The rescheduled (from January) SC State Meet on December 9, 2017 at the Upper Palmetto YMCA in Fort Mill, SC has 84 lifters on the roster as of 10/18/2017. We are taking 90 lifters on 2 platforms, I anticipate the roster will be full before the end of October. If we reach 90 on the roster, I will make up an alternate roster to replace lifters who drop out. The cut-off date for entries is December 2nd.
Between transfers to the 2017 Battle and this meet, there are about 30 lifters remaining that can transfer from the January SC State Meet. A reminder that transfer lifters must submit an entry form for the December 9 meet with no payment. It will be strictly first come first served as transfers do not get priority over other lifters that enter this meet. I apologize for any inconvenience and for those transfers that are unable to enter we can offer a transfer to either the 2018 Battle or the SC State Meet.
There only a few spots left so, if you wish to compete, please get your entries in soon. We already have a loaded roster with 20 women and 60% SC and 32% NC lifters. The youngest lifter is 15 and the oldest 74 proving that you can lift to a ripe old age!
Without volunteers these meets would not be possible. I know a lot of you are volunteering for the Fall Festival on November 4 so we need some new blood for our State Championships. You can find the volunteer signup form on usaplsc.com at http://www.usaplsc.com/volunteer-form.
A reminder that at State Meets American records can be set or broken.
Several weight classes appear very competitive:
Women’s 63kg and 84kg
Every men’s weight class – 74, 83, 93, 105, 120 and 120+kg.
